"In art, no one can hear you scream ..."

3 Screams is a dark, dynamic, and hilarious play centered on a contemporary theft of Edvard Munch's "The Scream." An accountant and unlikely thief who's helped pull-off the heist, Edvard, manically confronts his love-hate relationship with Munch's famous painting face-to-face. His wife, Tulla, shares a completely different side of the story—baking pastries to calm her nerves, while containing a strange, stifled lust beneath her apron. 20 years later their son, Gunnar, revisits the actual location where Munch painted the Scream and must now deal with the omnipresent power this singular work has had over his family.

Here's what reviewers are saying about 3 Screams and Man Alone Productions!

"A killer play"

"Highly recommended!"

"...an enormous acting challenge, but did this cast ever pull it off."

~~ Michelle Schusterman

"Hilariously funny."

"Some plays are fast-food—you know exactly what you’re going to get because it’s the same everywhere. This production is not fast-food theater. But neither is it relentlessly highbrow or somber."

"There’s a lot to turn over in the mind, which is what we would hope to gain from art"

"The play is an ambitious work that takes on a lot thematically as well as visually."

"Well produced, with effective sets and sound, this new play is the kind that might even benefit from a second viewing."

~~ Machelle Allman

"This is one of the rare shows that I would genuinely like to see another time or two."

"As the first production of the Man Alone Company the selection of Vincent Delaney's '3 Screams' is a clear declaration how high their ambitions are and the standard they are setting both for production and performance."

"For anyone who cares about art and its cost to artists and those who love them, this is a serious and admirable piece of work."

~~ Jerry Kraft

"A cleverly designed story ... filled with philosophical witticisms and cathartic moments."

"For its inaugural performance, Seattle’s newest theater company, Man Alone Productions, has done the honorable deed of producing a... new work by a local playwright."

~~ Seattle Weekly

Reviews of the 3 Screams cast!

"Brandon Ryan, with a remarkable ease on stage and unique line delivery was a delight to watch."

~~ Machelle Allman

"Oaks’s portrayal of Edvard’s imbalance is dead-on; as he talks to the painting, he goes from a humorous, almost child-like worship to dangerously erratic on a hairpin."

~~ Michelle Schusterman

"Ms. Ison had excellent pacing in this scene, and finely maintained tension with comic relief."

~~ Jerry Kraft
